Baton Rouge, La. – Baton Rouge General/General Health System announced
this week that Edgardo Tenreiro has been named Executive Vice President
and Chief Operating Officer. He will begin on January 20 and in this role,
Tenreiro will oversee operations for the health system, including patient
care and clinical services, medical operations, and facility infrastructure.
In addition, his focus will be on strengthening physician collaboration
and engagement.

Tenreiro previously served as Chief Operating Officer for Baton Rouge
General from 2008-2013. Most recently, he served as CEO for Palos Community
Hospital, just outside Chicago, IL, and he has previously served in executive
roles at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen, Texas, on the Gulf
Coast, and at NCH Healthcare System in Naples, Fla.
