Baton Rouge General Invites You to 'Love Your Heart'

Baton Rouge, La. – Baton Rouge General has a big heart … literally! It’s a 13-foot tall interactive, inflatable walk-through exhibit called the Mega Heart, and it will be on display at a fun-filled heart-health awareness event calledLove Your Heart on Saturday, April 11.

Love Your Heart will take place from 8 a.m. to noon on the Baton Rouge General Bluebonnet campus, 8585 Picardy Avenue. The educational event is designed to raise awareness of the country’s number one killer --- heart disease --- and to show participants the many ways to “love your heart” with lifelong healthy habits.

Visitors will be treated to:

  • Free health screenings: vascular, skin, blood pressure and body mass index
  • Exercise and cooking demonstrations
  • Heart-smart seminars led by physicians and experts
  • CPR instruction
  • Educational booths
  • Door prizes and more!
And everyone will want to participate in the larger-than-life Mega Heart experience. It allows visitors to take a virtual tour of the human heart while learning about cardiovascular functions, physical signs of heart disease, and current medical treatments. Children’s activities include face painting, ring toss, spin the wheel, and more.

Let us show you and your family how to Love Your Heart on April 11.
