Baton Rouge General Offers Free Stress Management Session

Behavioral Health Services Director Ann Wilder to discuss healthy ways to manage anxiety

Baton Rouge, La. – Baton Rouge General will host a lunch and learn Thursday, May 26 focused on stress management. The seminar is free and open to the public and will explore how to tell the difference between bad and good reactions to the stressors we encounter each day, what the physical impacts of stress are on the body, and how to handle stress while remaining healthy.

“Behavioral and mental health is a critical factor in the health and wellness of our communities,” said Wilder. “Many of us don’t realize what stress can do to our bodies. I hope that by talking about this, we will find ways to cope with everyday anxiety and be healthier overall.”

Baton Rouge General recently appointed Wilder Executive Director of Behavioral Health Services earlier this year to lead the expansion of the hospital’s psychiatric service line at its Mid City campus. She brings 20 years of behavioral health experience to the General, with expertise in the design, launch and implementation of new inpatient, outpatient and specialty behavioral health programs. In her role, Wilder serves as program coordinator for inpatient psychiatric and outpatient behavioral wellness, helping provide much needed behavioral health services to the Baton Rouge community.

The lunch and learn session will be hosted at Baton Rouge General’s Bluebonnet campus from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. in Conference Rooms 1 and 2. Lunch will be provided for those who RSVP online.
