Baton Rouge, La. – Baton Rouge General will hold services on both
campuses next week to celebrate Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. BRG employees
and community members are invited to attend.
"When we consider the social issues impacting our communities today,
the life and message of Dr. King is even more critical than ever,"
said Rev. Raymond Jetson, pastor at Star Hill Church and former State
Rev. Jetson is the guest speaker for the service scheduled for Bluebonnet
campus Tuesday, January 19, at 11 a.m. in Conference Rooms 1 and 2. Rev.
Jetson has an extensive background in social and public service, including
with the Louisiana House of Representatives, the Louisiana Dept. of Health
and Hospitals, and Louisiana Family Recovery Corps.
Baton Rouge General Director of Community Engagement Symil LeDoux will
speak at a service at the hospital’s Mid City campus on Monday,
January 18, at noon in the Claude Kirkpatrick Chapel. “We conduct
this annual service to commemorate Dr. King’s values, which mirror
those of Baton Rouge General – courage, truth, justice, compassion,
dignity, humility and service,” said Pat Davis, BRG Director of
Pastoral Care. “Dr. King had a vision of uniting all people with
unconditional love and forgiveness. He strived to bring healing to our
people and country. We should never stop working to complete his vision.”
