Baton Rouge General Plans Holiday Light Display at Bluebonnet Campus

‘Tis the season to enjoy 10,000 lights, 3 tons of real snow, visits with Santa and more!

Baton Rouge, La. – Baton Rouge General (BRG) invites families to visit Holiday Lights at the General, a light show and family event on BRG’s campus at the corner of Bluebonnet Boulevard and Picardy Avenue. Beginning November 22, the lawn in front of the hospital will be transformed into a twinkling, singing and musically synchronized lights display.

“Our team has always wanted to decorate the hospital for the holidays,” said President and CEO Edgardo Tenreiro. “These events give us the opportunity to share some holiday cheer with the whole community, and provide families the chance to celebrate in a safe and convenient location.”

The holiday display will feature a 40-foot mega tree, eight singing trees, candy canes, snowmen and gingerbread people in addition to more than 10,000 lights. Every evening from November 22 through January 5, the lights will be synchronized with music on the radio (station TBD).

Then, on Thursday nights between Thanksgiving and Christmas, BRG will open the display to visitors for Holiday Lights at Baton Rouge General, free events that include:

  • Music from local choirs and bands
  • Hot chocolate and cookies
  • Photos with Santa
  • Three tons of real snow
  • Other treats and giveaways

The Thursday night events will begin at 6 p.m. and remain open until 8 p.m. Parking is available onsite and there is no cost for admission.
