Baton Rouge General's Health Sciences Library is growing and expanding to serve and provide our community with free health information. Our library is open to the entire community and includes:
    • Computer and Internet Access
    • Document Delivery
    • Interlibrary Loan
    • Literature Services
    • Medline Instruction

    Clinical Collection
Our clinical collection of information consists of journals, reference materials and online resources. We can help you find copies of journal articles and excerpts from clinical textbooks. However, materials from the clinical collection may not be borrowed and must stay in-house to be used for patient care. We are often able to fill urgent requests for information required for immediate patient care and we are pleased to assist any patient referred to the Library.

    Consumer Health Collection
The consumer health collection provides resources including books, journals, magazines, newsletters, pamphlets and Internet access. You may borrow books, while other resources, such as Internet information and journal articles, may be printed or photocopied. The latest news in healthcare, overviews, current treatments, coping and local and national resources is now available to the public.

    Peyton's Story
Last summer, Robert Myer was visiting family on False River with his two sons, Peyton and Preston, when the family decided to burn some trash. Once the fire started going, there was a sudden explosion and in a moment their lives changed forever.

In this video, learn how Baton Rouge General's Burn Unit saved Peyton's life and the importance of having this unit here in our own backyard.
