Post-Primary Computed Tomography (CT) Certificate Program

Baton Rouge General’s School of Radiologic Technology provides new radiologic technologist graduates as well as experienced radiologic technologists additional certification and professional education through the Post-Primary CT Certificate Program. The program is open to those wanting more than just a continuing education basis for the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Certification Exam in CT or on-the-job training. This exciting opportunity for individuals to grow in their in-depth knowledge and experience of this advanced modality is purposefully designed for working technologists. The format is prepared and presented through engaging online and interactive hybrid courses, with a clinical component to meet all competency requirements within one semester.

Mission

To provide quality education to working technologists to advance their educational basis and clinical competence in the specialty modality of Computed Tomography, preparing them for success within professional practice and obtaining national certification.

Goals

  • Students will be progressively competent to perform basic to complex clinical procedures safely within the computed tomography specialty modality.
  • Students will demonstrate effective communication, oral and written, for all patient types and with all healthcare team members.
  • Students will demonstrate critical thinking and problem-solving skills within the advanced imaging protocols, patient safety, and imaging of pathological conditions.
