Baton Rouge Residents Learn How to Love Their Heart at Community Event

Baton Rouge, La. – Drawing over 200 community members, Baton Rouge General’s inaugural “Love Your Heart Day” offered a fun-filled day of heart education and health checks. At the Saturday, April 11 event, nearly 300 vascular, blood pressure, body mass index and skin screenings were provided, and attendees learned easy ways to be heart smart during seminars led by physicians and clinical experts. A 13-foot tall interactive, walk-through exhibit called the Mega Heart gave participants an inside look at how the human heart functions and the signs of heart disease. Attendees also learned community CPR, enjoyed exercise and cooking demos, games and art activities. Take a free heart health assessment and learn how you can reduce your risk of heart disease here.
