Baton Rouge General Celebrates Doctors’ Day with Superlative Awards and Social Media Campaign

Do you remember your high school superlative awards? Most Athletic? Most Likely to Succeed? In honor of National Doctors’ Day – March 30 – Baton Rouge General hosted a physician superlative contest to celebrate. Voted on by hundreds of employees, the winners are:

“We are privileged to not only have some of the most skilled physicians in the country practice medicine at Baton Rouge General, but also many of the most personable,” says Dr. Robert Kenney, Baton Rouge General’s Vice President of Medical Operations. “The old adage about the importance of a physician’s bedside manner is true, and the superlative contest is a fun way for employees to show practitioners how much they mean to our staff and our hospital.”

In addition to the superlative contest, Baton Rouge General employees were invited to sign an enormous 7x5 ft. Doctors’ Day card or write personal thank you notes to doctors and place them in a drop box for special delivery. Members of the community were also invited to thank their doctor by liking, sharing and commenting through our annual social media campaign. Patients shared comments like:

  • “Thanks to Drs. Carpenter & Brabham. You treated our sweet Dylan like she was your own little girl - you really went above and beyond.”
  • “A huge thank you to surgeons Drs. Bonner and Taylor who have performed lifesaving surgery on me over the last three years. May God bless them every day.”
  • “I’ve seen Dr. Anna Smither for many years and she is top-notch. She cares for her patients and takes the time to get to know them on a personal level.”

On Wednesday, March 30, all physicians were invited to a special lunch in honor of their commitment to providing compassionate, innovative, quality care to the community.
