HGTV Renovation Expert Offers Remodeling Tips at Free Event

Baton Rouge, La. – HGTV home renovation expert Holly Baker will take center stage at Baton Rouge General’s Life’s a Canvas: Home Edition event Thursday, October 20. After historic flooding devastated more than 100,000 Baton Rouge area homes, Baton Rouge General is proud to offer an event designed to help people regain peace of mind and recapture the feeling of home.

“As someone who loves Louisiana’s people and culture, I was heartbroken to hear about the devastating floods in the Baton Rouge area,” said Holly Baker, HGTV renovation expert. “After getting so many requests for tips and ideas about remodeling their flooded homes, I knew this opportunity with Baton Rouge General was a great way to help people take control of their rebuilding efforts.

The free event will include food, live music, a panel of physician and emotional health experts, and a home renovation discussion and do-it-yourself project. One lucky attendee will also win a free consultation from Baker on renovating one room of their home. The event is open to participants 21 years or older, but space is limited. To register, visit BRGeneral.org/Canvas.

“We are excited to have an expert like Holly Baker who is willing to dedicate her time and talents to help those who flooded learn how to make their damaged houses feel like home again,” said Edgardo Tenreiro, acting President and CEO of Baton Rouge General. “Strengthening morale and lifting spirits could not come at a better time for the Baton Rouge area.”

Holly Baker will star in a new show on HGTV this fall, transforming unsightly homes around New Orleans into amazing showstoppers, all while staying under budget.

This is the fourth annual Life’s a Canvas event at Baton Rouge General. Each year, the celebration focuses on creative ways to live healthy, with previous events including painting and cooking activities.
