Baton Rouge, La. – Supermodel and maternal health activist Christy
Turlington Burns toured Baton Rouge General’s Birth Center and NICU
last week while talking to hospital leadership about Every Mother Counts,
her nonprofit that promotes safe pregnancies and births. The visit was
hosted by the Irene W. and C.B. Pennington Foundation.
“Baton Rouge General offers families a customized delivery in a
full-service hospital, capable of managing every type of birth experience,”
explained Anna Cazes, RN, MSN, DNS, Vice President, Patient Care Services
and Chief Nursing Officer at Baton Rouge General. “Our Birth Center
is able to provide critical care for both mother and baby, under one roof."
Turlington Burns commented on the importance of having healthcare resources
available during delivery, especially if things don’t go as planned.
“I don’t know of many hospitals in the country that could
handle all the needs of both the mother and the child if something were
to go wrong,” she said.
Free tours are available of the BRG Birth Center, known for its luxurious
and spacious mother/baby suites and caring staff members. Sign up for
a tour and learn more about the Birth Center’s resources and team
