Mayor's Healthy City Initiative
Baton Rouge General collaborates with other organizations of all varieties throughout the city and parish to build a healthier Baton Rouge through the Mayor’s Healthy City Initiative, formed in 2008.
The movement, based on communication and coordination, is focused on inspiring a healthier Baton Rouge for all. Current areas of emphasis include obesity, HIV/AIDS, mental and behavioral health, and emergency department utilization.
Baton Rouge is the first community in the United States to have partner hospitals work together to create a Joint Community Health Needs Assessment and Community Implementation Plan.
