Delivery Day
When it’s time to deliver your baby, rest assured Baton Rouge General
Birth Center is ready to help you bring your new bundle of joy into the
world in a comfortable, safe environment. It is important that you bring
the necessary items for your stay, but don’t worry; we will help
you with everything else you and your baby might need!
What to Pack
In the final month of your pregnancy, time seems to fly. Knowing that your
baby could arrive at any moment can be worrisome, so be prepared for this
exciting day. Pack a bag at least 30 days before your due date and include
the items listed below:
- Lightweight robe
- Loose comfortable clothing and shoes to wear home
- Nightgown (if breastfeeding, make sure the gown is designed for breastfeeding)
- Clothes for baby to wear home
- Underwear
- Medications
- Nursing bras (if nursing)
- Camera and extra batteries
- Socks to wear to keep your feet warm during labor
- Baby book
- Prenatal records
- Insurance card
Personal care items such as:
- Deodorant
- Toothbrush
- Toothpaste
- Makeup
- Lip Balm
- Powder
- Body lotion or cream
- Hair brush / comb
- Hair ties for long hair
- Shampoo and soap
- Driver’s license

pre-registration forms
Preadmission Form
If you are scheduled to deliver a baby at Baton Rouge General you will
need to pre-register at least 30 days prior to your delivery date by completing
a pre-admission form. You may complete the
form online. After submitting the form a representative will contact you to confirm
your registration and discuss your insurance coverage and potential out-of-pockets
costs including co-pays and deductibles.
