Limbs for Life
The number of Americans living with diabetes, vascular disease and other
obesity-related diseases are on the rise in the U.S., and subsequently,
so are lower-extremity amputations. These conditions cut off circulation
to the extremities, damaging nerves, destroying healthy tissue, and often
leading to infection.
Baton Rouge General's Limbs for Life program educates patients who
are at risk for limb loss, and teaches them how to change their lifestyle
and properly manage their risks before it's too late. If you are diabetic
or have been diagnosed with peripheral artery disease, please contact
our Patient Navigator at (225) 387-7870 to schedule a free screening appointment.
