Sleep Studies

Sleep studies are completely painless and are basically an observation period. Sensory wires and an oxygen-measuring device are carefully taped to your body, then hooked up to a computer. Once you fall asleep, our certified technicians monitor various indicators such as your breathing, brain waves, eye movements, heart rate and muscle activity.

After your study, your results are carefully reviewed by our sleep specialist and sent to your physician, who will then work with you to treat and resolve your sleep disorders.

Is a sleep study right for me?

People suffering from sleep disorders are usually excessively tired during the day or have trouble getting to sleep or staying asleep. Sleep disorders also occur in children, and studies have shown a link between sleep disorders and common health risks such as childhood obesity and attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADD/ADHD).

Nearly everyone experiences occasional sleep problems due to stress or other factors. But if the problem persists, it could be a sign of a more serious sleep disorder or underlying medical condition. Chronic sleep disorders can cause fatigue, depression, loss in productivity, irritability, memory loss and frequent illness. If left untreated, sleep disorders can also raise your risk for diabetes, heart disease, hypertension, obesity, stroke and attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).
