Navy Send Off with Louisiana Flair

On Friday, May 29 we held a recognition ceremony at Mid City to celebrate the sailors who have helped us respond to COVID-19. We were joined by Lt. General Laura Richardson, Governor Edwards, and Mayor Broome to thank the 104 Navy medical professionals for helping us care for nearly 600 patients during their time at BRG.

The squadron of doctors and nurses was deployed on April 15 to help our team manage the surge in coronavirus patients. Since opening our first acute care unit in early April, Mid City discharged over 300 COVID survivors. That wouldn’t have been possible without the help of the Navy doctors, nurses and corpsmen. What better way to send them off and thank them off for all their hard work then with a second line!
