On behalf of our emergency and regional burn center teams, we express heartfelt concerns for the victims, their families and friends associated with this accident.

We have seen 14 patients total - seven have been treated and released; some will return for outpatient burn care. Five patients have been admitted to our hospital and have sustained burns - one is in critical condition, one is in serious condition, two are in fair condition and one patient is in good condition. Two patients are currently being assessed.

The hospital will conduct a press conference tomorrow, Friday, June 14 at 6:30 a.m. CST at Baton Rouge General's Mid City campus - 3401 North Boulevard under the covered area at Entrance 4 located between South Acadian Thruway and Peach Tree Street.
