Pelvic Health Rehabilitation for Pediatric Patients

At Baton Rouge General, our physical therapists are specially trained to treat children and adolescents with pelvic health issues. Your child might need physical therapy treatment for the following conditions:

  • Bladder leakage or accidents after age 4
  • Bowel accidents after age 4
  • Giggle incontinence
  • Bedwetting after age 4
  • Chronic constipation
  • Dysfunctional elimination
  • Bladder leakage during sports activities
  • Overactive or underactive bladder
  • Pelvic or abdominal pain

Our therapists will perform a comprehensive evaluation with input from a parent or caregiver. Treatment may consist of specialized muscle retraining, biofeedback, behavior modification, functional bladder and/or bowel training, and an individualized exercise prescription.

Any or all of these treatments can improve your child’s quality of life and self-esteem. For more information or to schedule an appointment, call (225) 763-4243.
