Cardiac & Pulmonary Rehab
Baton Rouge General offers a cardiac and pulmonary rehab program to help patients regain a healthy and energetic lifestyle after suffering a heart condition, pulmonary disease or after certain procedures. Our highly trained medical staff guide you through a comprehensive program to help you reach optimum cardiovascular and pulmonary health.
Why would someone need cardiac and pulmonary rehab?
A patient may be referred for cardiac & pulmonary rehab if they have experienced any of the following:
- Angioplasty (balloon procedure)
- Cardiac transplantation
- Coronary bypass surgery
- Heart attack
- Stent implantation
- Stable angina
- Valvular surgery
- Pulmonary or lung disease
What are the benefits of cardiac and pulmonary rehab?
- Improved muscle strength, endurance and flexibility
- Lowered blood pressure and heart rate
- Possible reduction of total cholesterol and increase in HDL “good” cholesterol
