In the Community

Baton Rouge General Hospital is unique --- not just because of its history, but because it was built by the community for the community.

Healthcare is the foundation of our mission, but we go beyond that, reaching out to educate, inform and set a positive example for those we serve. We do this through educational programs, support groups, health screenings and special events. Baton Rouge General Employees participate in health walks and volunteer their time for events such as Life Begins At 50, Go Red For Women and the Louisiana Marathon. We host a Grandparents Day that combines fun activities for children and wellness tips for seniors. Many of our nurses work as counselors at our Burn Unit’s summer camp for children. We care about our community ... and it shows.
