Bio

Dr. Kelly E. Boussert is a board-certified Anesthesiologist and Pain Management doctor who completed her Anesthesiology residency at The University of Chicago and Pain Management fellowship at Stanford University. She chose Stanford for its unique multidisciplinary, multi-modal, and interventional approach to patient care which she continues to utilize in her practice. She is a native of Louisiana and returned in 2014 to live closer to family and practice medicine in her home state. Dr. Boussert has a particular interest in cervical and lumbar spine interventions, spinal cord stimulation, complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS/RSD), joint injections with platelet-rich plasma (PRP) and stem cell therapy, migraine management, and any and all new and promising treatment options on the horizon. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, cooking, reading, and spending time with her husband 3 daughters and 1 son. She is excited to be a part of the Baton Rouge Orthopaedic Clinic as a Pain Management Specialist.

In her own words, Dr. Boussert explains, “Pain is complex, and it affects the lives of not only those suffering from it but also their family members, friends, employers or colleagues. While there are many treatment options available for the treatment of acute and chronic pain, it can be difficult to know where to start. I believe that the best way to begin to understand it (and therefore most effectively treat it) is through careful listening and compassion. I believe that education and autonomy are patients’ rights, and I work very hard to create a well-informed and collaborative treatment plan with my patients at each visit. In my practice as a pain management doctor, my goals are to treat pain quickly, to support and encourage a multidisciplinary team of doctors to best treat my patient’s pain, to build and maintain trusting relationships with my patients, to decrease suffering, and to improve function and quality of life using the latest research and comprehensive therapies available.”
