Dr. Wood is a fantastic PCP. He's empathic, understanding, knowledgeable, and seems to be an overall great guy.
Only waited 5 minutes in waiting room, medical assistant was very efficient in taking my vital signs and confirming medical info. Dr Robert Wood answered all my questions, allayed any fears I had and performed a thorough physical examination. I would highly recommend this doctor and group to new patients.
I have extreme anxiety with going to see my doctors. Doctor Wood took great care of me. My visit was efficient time wise and he took immediate action on getting the wire out of my foot and after X-ray to make sure nothing else in the foot (which would have been a lingerie worry). Yeah, the doctor himself, Dr. Wood, he was great. He was very thorough and everything. But the nurse was just, she looked like she needed some training or something. She couldn't get my blood pressure right. And I don't know, she just, and she had to keep running back and forth to ask the other nurse questions and stuff when she did my test for, my memory test. She had to run back and forth all the time. She didn't understand it very well. That's all.

The doctor took time to review my medical history and make recommendations for exercise and to relieve the tense muscles in my neck. The young lady who drew my blood did an excellent job. I told her I had small veins and would appreciate it if she got it right on the first try. She did. I thanked her because I have left the office of health care providers on many occasions with my arm a very noticeable dark color and in pain. Great job!!!

Doctor asked questions about any new health concerns, and also recorded them. Made suggestions to improve physical activity. Asked about meds, and requested refills on them. Nurse called back same day with blood test results, and recommended to keep up my meds, exercise, watch what I eat. Overall very good appointment and very satisfied with my doctor and staff at Baton Rouge family medical center.
Dr. Wood is a great doctor. All his nurses are really nice. There's a couple of women that work in the front office that are kind of rude, but Dr. Wood himself is an excellent doctor. I've been with him for years. I wouldn't go anywhere else. He feels like a family member, and I highly recommend him to anyone looking for a doctor.

When I went, the nurse showed me into an older waiting room with a very short step to get up onto the examining table. I explained to her that I couldn't use that, and she put me then into the room with a bigger step up. So she was listening. I recommended that my husband go to Dr. Robert Wood. I found him to be an excellent physician. And I get much better feedback than most of my friends report.

I had a 9:30am appointment, arrived at 9:15am to check in, I was not called to the back till 10:00am. When I made this appointment we agreed on the 9:30am time, if the provider can't see me with in 15-20 minutes of the agreed time the appointment should not have been made for that time. My time is just as valuable as anyone else's time. When I was called back I was getting up to cancel the appointment and leave the premises.
I am not one to recommend doctor,dentist or cpa to anyone. Dr wood has been my dr since dr st amant retired. I plan to always stay his patient.

The new MY CHART is taking some time for the staff, but they'll get it. All my other doctors belong to MY CHART. I am glad for the change. They missed one of my medications, fenofibrate. I am still on it.
In addition to Dr. Robert Wood and his staff being wonderful, I also had lab work done. The wait was minimal, and the tech was extremely good. The stick was almost painless, and there was barely a mark and absolutely no bruising. Please do work on the system used to schedule appointments. The automated system is loud and the wait time is ridiculous. It was the only part of my recent experience that was not pleasant and professional. Once I was able to speak to a person, the scheduling process went very smoothly.

The front office charged me $25 for a visit that should have been 0. After I told her I didn't have a copay she told me it it still $25 to see the doctor even though I pay hundreds of dollars every month to be insured by blue cross blue shield Louisiana.
