Baton Rouge General Nationally Recognized for Supply Chain Excellence

BATON ROUGE, La. – Baton Rouge General (BRG) is a winner of the Premier healthcare alliance’s Supply Chain Excellence Award. The award recognizes exceptional management of hospital supplies and resources. BRG is one of only 14 Premier members to receive the award this year.

“Never has it been more important to be responsible stewards of health care resources than over the past year, when pandemic-related supply issues affected industries across the board,” said Kendall Johnson, chief financial officer at BRG. “This award exemplifies the tireless work by our team to make sure we had the supplies and resources we needed to take care of patients and provide the highest quality care.”

Supply expense performance is measured by Premier’s SupplyFocus®, the industry’s largest comparative database of operational and supply chain cost information for acute care hospitals. Winners were identified using four industry standard supply expense ratios and a case-mix-index-based peer grouping methodology to ensure that organizations of diverse sizes and complexity were considered equally.

Premier Inc. is a leading healthcare improvement company, uniting an alliance of more than 4,100 U.S. hospitals and health systems and approximately 200,000 other providers and organizations to transform healthcare.
