Baton Rouge General CEO Edgardo Tenreiro Named Chair of Louisiana Hospital Association
BATON ROUGE, La. – Baton Rouge General (BRG) President and CEO Edgardo Tenreiro has been named chair of the Louisiana Hospital Association (LHA) Board of Trustees. Tenreiro received the gavel from the outgoing chair and began his one-year term during LHA’s annual membership meeting in late July.
In this leadership role, Tenreiro will work alongside hospital leaders from across the state to advocate for Louisiana hospitals and support efforts to improve healthcare. LHA focuses on advancing policies that strengthen patient care, developing the healthcare workforce, enhancing quality and safety, improving emergency preparedness, and promoting collaboration among hospitals to better serve communities statewide.
For three decades, Tenreiro has worked in management roles for hospital systems in Florida, Texas, Illinois, and Louisiana. Tenreiro is a member of various boards, including the Baton Rouge Area Chamber, Baton Rouge Health District, and Louisiana Independent Hospital Network Coalition, and previously served as treasurer and then chair-elect of LHA.
