BATON ROUGE, La. — Baton Rouge General (BRG) and HEALTHremède have officially joined forces. Beginning August 1, HEALTHremède’s three clinics will operate as BRG Express Care and Occupational Health, expanding the urgent care and occupational medicine network to five convenient locations across the Baton Rouge area.
These walk-in clinics treat patients of all ages for a wide range of common illnesses and injuries, from allergies and sprains to fevers, stitches, and stomach bugs. On-site lab and X-ray services help make visits quicker and easier, and all locations offer occupational health services like pre-employment physicals, drug testing, injury care, return-to-work evaluations and more.
For added convenience, virtual visits are also available for minor to moderate symptoms such as pink eye, coughs, and stomach issues. The Dutchtown clinic will continue offering medical weight loss services.
The expansion comes as more people turn to urgent and walk-in care, with over 14,000 clinics now open nationwide, double the number from just a decade ago. That growth was fueled in part by the COVID-19 pandemic, which introduced many to urgent care for the first time. BRG and HEALTHremède have been practicing in this space since 2006.
