BATON ROUGE, La. – Baton Rouge General (BRG) is expanding its health and wellness services with the opening of the BRG Weight Loss Center, providing a comprehensive, physician-led approach for patients managing chronic health condition like diabetes, high blood pressure and other obesity-related complications.
Focused on both weight management and overall health, the center uses a combined approach including GLP-1 therapy, personalized nutrition and lifestyle counseling, chronic disease management and regular monitoring and follow-up with a multidisciplinary team. BRG Weight Loss Center specializes in treating advanced metabolic disorders and autoimmune conditions related to obesity, with a focus on cardiometabolic health.
The team is led by Dr. Kyle Schwab, who is board certified in internal medicine, obesity medicine and sleep medicine, Dr. Thirumalini Dasari, who is board certified in internal medicine and obesity medicine, and Jolie Relle, PA-C, who specializes in metabolic health and chronic illnesses.
The new Weight Loss Center complements BRG’s full range of weight management options, from bariatric surgery and non-surgical treatments for patients who may not be ready for surgery at the hospital’s Louisiana Center for Bariatrics to self-pay options for patients who want quick access to GLP-1 medications.
