BATON ROUGE, La. – Dr. Mark M. Levin, a board-certified vascular surgeon, has recently joined Baton Rouge General (BRG) Heart and Vascular Surgery. Dr. Levin specializes in complex endovascular aortic aneurysms, visceral aneurysms, carotid disease, complex open and endovascular peripheral artery disease and limb salvage, and the management of venous disease. and treatment.


As an experienced vascular surgeon, Dr. Levin has spearheaded multiple initiatives to successfully start transcarotid artery revascularization (TCAR) programs, vein programs, and limb salvage programs at partnering hospital facilities. He was the first physician in the Northern Nevada region to perform TCAR, was involved in the first deep vein arterialization for limb salvage and brought fenestrated aneurysm repair to that region.


Dr. Levin received his undergraduate degree in cellular and molecular neuroscience from Johns Hopkins University, his master’s degree in physiology and biophysics and medical degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine in Washington, D.C. He then completed general surgery residency in Phoenix while working at the Arizona Burn Center followed by a vascular surgery fellowship at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas.


At BRG Heart and Vascular Surgery, he joins vascular surgeons Mickey Graphia, MD; Joseph Griffin, MD, FACS; and M. Vincent Weaver, MD, FACS, and together, they work alongside cardiothoracic surgeons Andrew Bishop, MD, and Emily Adams, MD.
