The front office staff was confused about my son's name and put it in the system incorrectly since he's a new patient. I was a little disappointed by the nurse who breezed through the medical history questions and couldn't answer all of my questions.

We love Dr. Wood. We changed from one insurance carrier to another so we could continue to see Dr. Wood and use the BR General Hospital as opposed to Our Lady of the Lake in Baton Rouge.

Dr. Wood is the best primary doctor I have ever had. He has a high level of skills and relates them in a perfect style.....he has the technical skills and the communication skills to match. Baton Rouge General has always served me well. The problem seems to always be when you need to go outside of there system the services can deteriorate regarding specialist.
The office efficiency is superb. Dr. Wood is able to take care of all the needs that are important to me and ensure that I'm getting all testing on the day that I'm there. The office staff is very helpful. The lab was very efficient as well as walking me over to the diagnostic mammogram.

I have never had any problems with the staff but I would say some of the young girls in the lab need a little bit more to learn but other than that everything is great.

I wasn't told that medications were going to be called in to the mail order pharmacy. Three out of four were called requiring me to call office next day and ask about the missing fourth. Why wasn't it too reordered?

Dr. Jacob Wood is truly exceptional. He is an excellent listener and one of the most knowledgeable doctors I've ever met, with expertise across so many different areas. His care and insight have saved me many times over, and I'm beyond grateful to have found him. Highly recommend!
This isn't terribly important, but worth noting. - On my first appointment, it was made over the phone. I verified the time and date, but when I arrived, there was no record of an appointment. - On that visit, I called ahead to get directions to Dr. Wood's office. I was told to go to the Emergency Room entrance and they would direct me. After arriving there, they had no idea where his office was and sent me to Entrance 4. I asked a guard and was directed to Entrance 1. They knew where the office was and sent me to the Medical entrance. - Once I discovered I did not have an appointment, the receptionist was very kind and made a new (2nd) afternoon appointment for me the following week. - As I'm driving to my second appointment, I phoned ahead to let the office know I would be five minutes late. The receptionist looked up my name and said, "You're a new patient. Dr. Wood only sees new patients in the morning." So, she canceled my second appointment and made a third appointment in the morning of the following week.

My prescription, a new prescription for eye drops for my eyes which were itching and watering and stinging was sent to the wrong pharmacy and I had to track it down and get it sent to the proper pharmacy.

Specimen placed in basket as directed. I did see me name on specimen cup but now there's no result and UA is missing. Staff looking into this now.
