Medicare Plans
Choose a Medicare plan that includes Baton Rouge General
Not all Medicare plans are the same. When you choose your plan, be sure to select one that includes the highest rated doctors and facilities in town. With three emergency rooms, more than 30 clinics, Baton Rouge General Cancer Center, the Advanced Robotics of Louisiana, Premier Urology at Baton Rouge General and the Regional Burn Center, Baton Rouge General has everything you need to stay healthy for years to come.
Important Changes for 2026
BRG and Humana are currently in contract negotiations and are unlikely to reach an agreement that will allow us to continue caring for Humana Medicare Advantage patients. That means that Baton Rouge General’s facilities and physicians will no longer be in-network with Humana Medicare Advantage plans as of January 1, 2026.
Medicare Open Enrollment ends December 7, so this is a good time to review which plans include your care team. We hope you will consider a plan that includes Baton Rouge General and Baton Rouge General Physicians. Medicare plans accepted at Baton Rouge General and Baton Rouge General Physicians include:
- Aetna
- Atrio
- Standard Medicare Supplement Plans
- Blue Advantage
- Traditional Medicare
- Humana (Out of network starting January 1, 2026)
- United Medicare
- People's Health
- Well Care

Last year’s health plan may not be the same as next year’s health plan. Before you make a decision during your employer’s open enrollment period, be sure your coverage hasn’t changed and your preferred hospitals and physicians are still included in your plan.
If your employer’s plan options don’t include Baton Rouge General, let your human resources team know you would like to see Baton Rouge General in your plan.
