Observership Interest

Encouraging and supporting educational opportunities for those interested in pursuing medicine is a top priority for the Baton Rouge General Internal Medicine Residency Program. For consideration of an observership, the minimum requirements are:

• Successful completion and graduation from a medical school before the commencement of the observership period;
• Successful completion and passing of the USMLE Step 1 and Step 2 examinations, with scores at a minimum of 240 or above; and,
• Clinical experience and overall interest in the program.

Submission of this form does not guarantee acceptance for an observership opportunity. Applicants who meet the minimum requirements will receive a response within 30 days of submission. Please check our website again in the spring for more information on 2025 availability.
