Frequently Asked Questions
Before Your Appointment
A referral is required for Occupational Therapy (OT). Referrals are not required for Physical Therapy (PT) or Speech Therapy (ST), but they are recommended so your child's healthcare provider stays informed.
Please bring any previous evaluations or reports, as well as any equipment your child uses (such as braces, splints, or walkers). For feeding evaluations, bring your child's usual bottles, cups, utensils, or preferred foods if appropriate.
Please arrive 15 minutes early for your first visit. When you check in, you can expect to provide identification and insurance information prior to completing any necessary paperwork. When it's time for the appointment, your therapist will greet you and your child and bring you to the evaluation room.
Your therapist will review your child's history, discuss your concerns, and complete an assessment using observation, play-based activities, and standardized testing when appropriate. At the end, you'll receive recommendations and the next steps.
Therapy can begin once insurance authorization is received.

Most therapy sessions last 30 to 45 minutes.
This is common, especially during new experiences. Our therapists use strategies to help children feel comfortable and engaged. If needed, we'll work with you to determine the best approach for your child.
Yes. Caregivers are welcome to attend therapy sessions and are encouraged to participate in learning strategies to support progress at home. If you are not directly in the therapy session, caregivers must remain on-site during appointments.
Your therapist will set specific goals based on your child's needs and regularly review progress. We also value caregiver feedback and encourage you to share successes and concerns.
Yes. Home practice is an important part of therapy. Your therapist will provide activities and strategies to help your child continue making progress between visits.
