I have never had a problem going to Baton Rouge General Hospital. In fact, it's a lot better than the hospital where I live.

My provider came into the room and introduced themselves to me and asked had we meet before. I am an existing patient who has been in contact with their office multiple times over the past 5 months for underlying issues. It felt impersonal and I know those doctors see tons of patients everyday but it would have made me feel different about my visit. A simple this is an existing patient note on a chart would go a long way I believe. This contact has made me think of finding another provider.

It went too fast. I didn't have time to completely understand what was involved with the PICC line process. And how long before my next appointment.
Dr. Schmeeckle was very, very professional and she talked to me in the basic language, not in, I call it doctor's language. She used words so I could understand. She listened to me and the nurses were very nice. The girl that took my blood was very nice. Front lady at the desk was very nice. She treated me very professionally as well.

I had an ultrasound of my kidneys done immediately prior to meeting with the doctor. I was with the doctor maybe 5 minutes. She said that the tumor we have been monitoring is now 9mm, no substantial growth. She will continue to monitor, make an appointment for next year. When I got home I read the ultrasound report. The ultrasound report said that I have a 1.4cm cyst on my left kidney. The doctor never mentioned this NEW information. I had no opportunity to ask questions because I was not even informed in the appointment. I feel this is completely unacceptable.
It's always easy to discuss any question I have with Dr. Schmeeckle.

. I needed to get blood work done. The lab tech was not there so the nurse LPN was not happy that she had to try to get blood for me. She attempted one time and then told me she couldn't get it and had me go to the Baton Rouge General Hospital to get my blood drawn. I did not appreciate having to go.

The ultrasound tech was over booked and running behind which made my appointment time run a bit behind. Don't overbook your techs if your goal is to see patients at the time you book them for. My time is as valuable as yours.

And if I didn't, to come in, and that was just wonderful because that shows they care. And they're solving my problem where nobody else was fixing it. So I'm very grateful. Thank you.

This appointment was initiated by my regular urololist. She checks to see if I have any problems or issues. However she was not in the day of my appointment & I saw another physician. That doctor Evidentally doesn't feel those appointments are necessary. I wish I had known that earlier because that was a busy day for me & inconvenient to work in a doctor appointment. Won't happen again.
I would like to say that the doctor was very cooperative. She answered all my questions and she even gave me some feedback on some options that I might want to pursue later on. But she gave me the opportunity to be able to take the medicine, see if it worked, and she was very cooperative. Wonderful care & concern for my condition
The entire staff seemed stressed. They were polite but something seemed wrong. This was my first visit here. I would recommend this office but the friendliness of a happy medical practice was not there.

I was her last appointment of the day and I definitely felt like she wanted to get in then go home. Was in and out in 5 min and I heard her leaving right after leaving. She came in, introduced herself and got straight to the point. She did not have any bedside manner and was pretty blunt. I tried explaining what was going on, I tried asking questions but I was still left clueless. She kept telling me "wait for your hysterectomy to follow up". Which is months away. Meanwhile I'm still having discomfort, I'm still experiencing bladder retention, still just all around uncomfortable. I had a follow up with my PCP after my visit with the urologist and even she was surprised by the information given and what I was left with from my visit. Honestly, I did not have the best experience and found her to be very blunt with no explanation. Almost as if I was wasting her time and she had better things to do.

The front office receptionist at check-in was very rude. I haven't seen the doctor in almost 2 yrs and she switched from BR clinic. I did not know that. However, I added all of my information into MyChart and she insisted that I complete another profile sheet. I didn't want to because I've had 3 recent surgeries on my wrist and it's painful with precision work like writing. I almost left the facility due to the way that I was treated by her.
This was my first visit so I still feel that it is too soon to give feedback since the doctor spent less than five minutes with me.

The wait time was ridiculously long. Waiting an hour past appointment date is not respectful to patients time when we have to sign a form about not being seen if we're 15 minutes late.
