Understanding In-Network and Out-of-Network Coverage
When it comes to your healthcare costs, knowing whether your care is in-network or out-of-network can make a big difference.
What Does "In-Network" Mean?
When a hospital, doctor, or other healthcare provider is in-network, it means they have a contract with your health insurance company to provide services at a set, discounted rate.
What this means for you:
- Lower out-of-pocket costs
- Easier billing where we bill your insurance directly
- Coverage is typically higher for in-network care
Always check with your insurance provider to make sure our hospital and your specific doctor are in-network with your plan.
What About "Out-of-Network"?
If a provider is out-of-network, they do not have a contract with your insurance company. This may result in:
- Higher costs for you
- Partial or no coverage, depending on your plan
- You may be responsible for a larger portion of the bill
In emergencies, your insurance may still cover care at our hospital, even if we’re out-of-network. Be sure to review your plan’s emergency coverage.
