I appreciated there was not a long wait in the waiting room, and Dr. Schmeeckle was so knowledgeable on what happened to me. She was thorough and spent time with me to explain my situation. Her nurse was very helpful as well when she was taking notes on my symptoms.
I went for a sonogram after my initial visit, but never got contacted about the results as I was promised. I have no answers for the follow up so the visit was pretty much worthless.

She came in, introduced herself and got straight to the point. She did not have any bedside manner and was pretty blunt. I tried explaining what was going on, I tried asking questions but I was still left clueless. She kept telling me "wait for your hysterectomy to follow up". Which is months away. Meanwhile I'm still having discomfort, I'm still experiencing bladder retention, still just all around uncomfortable. I had a follow up with my PCP after my visit with the urologist and even she was surprised by the information given and what I was left with from my visit. Honestly, I did not have the best experience and found her to be very blunt with no explanation. Almost as if I was wasting her time and she had better things to do.
Dr. Schmeeckle is professional, competent and inspires confidence. I would recommend her to anyone needing a urologist.
The front office receptionist at check-in was very rude. I haven't seen the doctor in almost 2 yrs and she switched from BR clinic. I did not know that. However, I added all of my information into MyChart and she insisted that I complete another profile sheet. I didn't want to because I've had 3 recent surgeries on my wrist and it's painful with precision work like writing. I almost left the facility due to the way that I was treated by her.
This was my first visit so I still feel that it is too soon to give feedback since the doctor spent less than five minutes with me.
Dr. Schmeeckle was cautious and sent me for a test to confirm that my previous problem had not returned. I appreciate that in a provider.

The wait time was ridiculously long. Waiting an hour past appointment date is not respectful to patients time when we have to sign a form about not being seen if we're 15 minutes late.

Loved, loved, loved the speediness with which I was seen as a first time appointment. Dr. Schmeeckle was easy to speak with, listened and answered my questions in a way that was easily understood. She was also very friendly and explained what was actually happening to me. She was also cognizant of the possibility my insurance might not want to cover the price of the Rx, so gave me a month worth of samples.

I was scheduled for an annual checkup that includes an ultrasound to determine status of kidney stones. I was told when the appointment was made that the ultrasound would be performed at the same facility & time as my office visit with Dr. Schmeeckle. I addressed this at check-in w/the receptionist & her nurse but received vague answers. I spoke with Dr. Schmeeckle about it & was told they were working on hiring a tech. This visit was a waste of time for Dr Schmeeckle & myself since we didn't have the ultrasound to look at & review its findings. Dr Schmeeckle told me that when a tech was hired they would notify me & I could run over & get it done which means another visit. Since this was an annual follow-up appointment there was no urgency & it could have been rescheduled at a later date when a tech was there. I am very disappointed in this visit.
Great experience over all, especially considering I have several issues that have suddenly come up. Dr. Schmeeckle and her staff have worked quickly to provide the care and solutions I need with care and kindness.
Contractually, this provider or Baton Rouge General Hospital doesn't accept FMOLHS' Blue Cross Blue Shield Insurance. I wish I would have known this prior to scheduling this appointment with the nurse.
