About Me

Dr. Kyle Schwab is a board-certified physician who completed medical school at Louisiana State University in Shreveport and a combined internal medicine and pediatric residency at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He became board certified in the specialty of sleep medicine in 2005 and obesity medicine in 2025 and is one of the few physicians in Louisiana who is a Diplomat of the American Board of Sleep Medicine. Dr. Schwab also focuses on increasing sleep disorder awareness in both the medical community and the community at large in and around Louisiana. Dr. Schwab also leads Baton Rouge General Louisiana Sleep Foundation as medical director.

For two years this provider and her assistant have failed to retrieve my records from the CPAP machine. This year their efforts lasted less than 2 minutes. However, I went to the Sleep Apnea Store and they were able to retrieve the records and this year they faxed the record to her. Maybe she and her assistant should go to the Sleep Apnea Store for training.

I had numerous calls. I had originally had trouble getting someone to speak to with the Louisiana Sleep Foundation. When I finally got to speak with a person, they told me I had to pay $50 before two o'clock, which I did. Then they told me I had to go to the Baton Rouge General at 730 on a Saturday night alone and then knock on the door to get in. So I called to cancel the appointment and was told that the, they asked me who was the doctor. I said Dr. Schwab. They said we don't have a Dr. Schwab on our staff. So it took some time for me to get the appointment with Dr. Schwab and not have, who had told me they would mail me the equipment to do the sleep study.

Yes, I went to the doctor for a second opinion and yes, he listened to me and that was the most important. He explained to me about my previous test that it could have been a false positive, something like that. So that was my main thing is that he validated what I needed to hear and he's willing to see if I can get further testing done. Whether I'll qualify for my insurance or not, I don't know. But at least you validated and you listened and you looked at my test results. The other doctor before that could care less and didn't give me the time of day that she needed to. Yep. Thank you. Appreciate it.

Dr. Schwab and his staff are the platonic ideal of what a physician's office should be. I had some serious concerns about my health when I entered and complete confidence in our plan and my health when leaving! That's the way it should be! Dr. Schwab has more knowledge than the encyclopedia and his staff is more helpful than a hotel in Dubai! Not only do I recommend Dr. Schwab but have had multiple friends and family members see him as well. Each time - they have the same experience - an absolutely genuine physician who takes care of you like family. Staff who are so attentive and responsive that you feel like this is concierge medicine. I don't know how he does it.

I had an assistant who confirmed my CPAP supplier and pharmacy, then a nurse came in shortly after the reading of my CPAP machine was printed, who came in an again confirmed my supplies provider and pharmacy AND then the doctor came in (first time I have ever met with him) and he AGAIN confirmed my supplies provider and pharmacy. All of this info was entered on the computer monitor as this was not my first "annual" visit. I was in the actual office a maximum of 10 or so minutes and the doctor did not say anything to me other than obtaining the above confirmations and asking how I was doing.

Yes, I had an 8.30 in the morning appointment, which I was told was the first appointment of the day. They opened at 8.30. I got there at 8.20. I did not see the provider. I didn't get called back to the room until 8.50. And then the provider came in at 9.05. And then it was 9.25 before I saw the second provider. So I felt like the 8.30 time slot was very misleading whenever they had, I was not serviced a lot quicker or told that I was a delay. And when I brought this up, I was told that y'all double book every appointment. So that's what I have.

I'm concerned test results won't represent a typical night's sleep. A light sleeper, I woke every time I moved in my sleep. The equipment became uncomfortable and felt as though it was constantly shifting. I removed it at 4:30 a.m. (put on around 9:30 p.m.) and, from 4:30-7 a.m. slept soundly.

The wait time was a bit extensive. After I checked in, it took 30 minutes to be called back. After the initial nurse took my information & left, it was another 30 minutes before the doctor came in. My appointment time was 2:15pm but I didn't see the doctor until 3:15pm. I understand they can run behind, but it would be nice to feel like the patients time is valuable to the office as well. No one even checked in to reassure that I hadn't been forgotten about in the half hour I was in the exam room/office waiting on the doctor.
