No. The “medical” in “Medical Academy” means the school model has a medically focused curriculum and has partnered with a hospital system to provide real-world experiences and early exposure to the possibilities in healthcare. The district’s Exceptional Student Services Department will help meet the unique needs of all students, in any of its schools.
Students are exposed to the medical field through curriculum support. Upon entering 6th grade, students participate in a Healthcare Seminar to learn and develop soft skills.
Baton Rouge General partners with Capitol High School, where students can continue with the Medical Focus Pathway. At the end of the pathway learning, certifications can be earned, allowing them to be job-ready by graduation.
