Bio

Dr. Craig Greene is an Orthopedic Surgeon at Baton Rouge Orthopedic Clinic in Baton Rouge, LA, and currently serves as the Chief of Orthopedic Surgery at The Surgical Specialty Center in Baton Rouge. Previously, he served as Chief of Surgery at Our Lady Of The Lake Regional Medical Center in Baton Rouge as well as Clinical Assistant Professor of Orthopedic Surgery at LSU Health Science Center in New Orleans.

As a gubernatorial appointee to the Louisiana Emergency Response Network (‘LERN’), Dr. Greene is charged with the responsibility of supporting and sustaining a statewide system of care coordination for patients suddenly stricken by serious traumatic injury or time sensitive illness. He is also a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, Orthopedic Trauma Association and is Board Certified in Sports Medicine.

In addition to his role with LERN where he serves as a key resource supporting large scale emergencies and natural disasters in the State of Louisiana, he is also a vital resource in supporting orthopedic trauma and humanitarian care around the world. In 2011, he founded the Dr. Greene Foundation www.greenecharity.com , which provides humanitarian aid in disaster relief globally. He has volunteered his services at Medical Centers of West Africa, organized a relief effort in Haiti, which involved sending 12 medical teams to provide healthcare to victims of the earthquake in 2010. Dr. Greene attempts to take a medical team on a medical mission each year which includes involving family members. He has helped on a medical mission in Columbia and Mexico. Last year, he took his 15 year old daughter to Honduras on a medical mission trip to serve families in the jungle. He is passionate about public service, societal and healthcare sustainability.

Dr. Greene completed his undergraduate degree at Louisiana State University in 1996 where he was a member the football team as a strong safety from 1992-1994. He received his medical degree from Louisiana State University Health Science Center in New Orleans in 2000. He completed his residency at Texas A&M Department of Orthopedic Surgery at Scott and White Hospital in Temple, TX in 2005 followed by a fellowship in Orthopedic Traumatology and complex fracture care at Harborview Trauma Center, University of Washington in Seattle, WA in 2006. He is a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society.

Dr. Greene earned his MBA from Yale University where he graduated with honors. He also serves as a Lieutenant Commander in the United States Navy Reserves.

Dr. Greene grew up in Maringouin, LA and now lives in Baton Rouge, LA with his wife of 20 years Kristen and their four children - Hadley, Cass, Gabe and Ryder. They attend Healing Place Church.
