Baton Rouge General's Birth Center Welcomes First Mardi Gras Babies of 2017

Baton Rouge, LA – On Mardi Gras morning, Halie Branam and Jay Johnson welcomed baby boy Leaon Francis Johnson into the world at Baton Rouge General’s Birth Center. Born February 28, 2017 at 9:52 a.m., 6 lb., 12 oz. Leaon was the first Mardi Gras baby born at the hospital this year.

His birth was closely followed by the 10:18 a.m. arrival of another boy, 8 lb., 14 oz. Finley Daniel Amie, who was born to Danielle and Nathan Amie. Both families are doing great.
