BATON ROUGE, LA. -- Baton Rouge General (BRG) is accepting pre-qualification applications for its 2019 Community Enhancement Award (CEA) through February 8. BRG will invest $50,000 into the winning organization’s program each year, for up to three years.

Organizations will be notified of their pre-qualification status by March 1 via e-mail. Those that successfully meet pre-qualification standards will then be invited to submit a formal proposal.

The Community Enhancement Award is intended for non-profit organizations seeking financial support to implement transformative, sustainable projects that benefit Baton Rouge area residents in one of the following areas: social determinants of health, quality of place or population health. The CEA is a new program launched by BRG last year as a way to focus its sponsorship efforts in the community.

The Way to Work program (TWTW) through HOPE Ministries was the 2018 recipient of the award, selected for its work educating both employers and potential and existing employees on the relationship between life skills, job retention and advancement. BRG’s investment will allow TWTW to expand its capacity, adding a new coach and increasing available training space. Construction is wrapping up on HOPE Ministries new Technology Center.

More details, including the online application and a timeline of the process, are available here.
