Baton Rouge General to Host Two Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Services

Perry Franklin will be the guest speaker at both events

BATON ROUGE, La. - Baton Rouge General (BRG) is hosting two services honoring the work and life of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. on Monday, January 21. Perry Franklin will be the guest speaker at both events, and the public is invited to attend.

Franklin was a member of BRG’s Board of Trustees for nine years. His company, Franklin Associates, ranks near the top of the LSU 100, a list of the 100 fastest growing businesses owned or led by LSU graduates.

The first ceremony will be held at BRG’s Mid City campus at 9 a.m. in the chapel, and the second service at the Bluebonnet campus at 11 a.m. in Conference Rooms 1 and 2. Music will be provided by Curtis White and Matthew Gardner of the LSU School of Music.

“As we continue to dream and implement a collective vision for our city of Baton Rouge, Dr. King’s values – service, leadership and equality – should guide all of us,” said Edgardo Tenreiro, BRG’s President and CEO. “This annual service is a reminder for us to take that next step in moving all of Baton Rouge forward.”

The Mid City event is located at 3600 Florida Blvd., in the chapel, which is near the main entrance. The Bluebonnet event is located at 8585 Picardy Ave. in Conference Rooms 1 and 2, closest to entrance 3. Valet parking is available at both campuses.
