Baton Rouge General Physicians Named to ‘Most Wired’ List

BATON ROUGE, La. – Baton Rouge General Physicians (BRGP) was named one of the country’s Most Wired providers in a list released today by the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME). BRGP is one of three physician practices in Louisiana recognized.

The annual Most Wired survey assesses the adoption, integration and impact of technologies in healthcare organizations at all stages of development. BRG highlighted its digital initiatives including the growth of telehealth options and continued efforts to bolster patient portal engagement.

“Technology is driving major changes in healthcare,” said Bennett Cheramie, BRG’s vice president of information systems. “This shift means that patients are more empowered and want more control, and our goal is to make getting care as seamless as possible with digital tools that fit the unique needs of today’s patients.”

Based on their survey responses, each participating organization received an overall score plus scores for individual levels in eight segments: infrastructure; security; business/disaster recovery; administrative/supply chain; analytics/data management; interoperability/population health; patient engagement; and clinical quality/safety. Participants can then use the report and scores to identify strengths and opportunities for improvement.

This is the second year that CHIME has conducted the survey, which was previously conducted by the American Hospital Association. CHIME is an executive organization dedicated to serving chief information officers, chief medical information officers, chief nursing information officers, chief innovation officers, chief digital officers and other senior healthcare IT leaders.
