Baton Rouge General Receives Pulmonary Rehab Certification

BATON ROUGE, La. – Baton Rouge General (BRG) announced today that its Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program has been re-certified by the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation (AACVPR). BRG is also the only hospital in Baton Rouge with an AACVPR-certified cardiac rehab program, recognizing it as a leader in the field of cardiovascular and pulmonary rehabilitation with the most advanced practices available.

Pulmonary rehabilitation programs help people with chronic lung diseases, like chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and pulmonary fibrosis, by improving lung function, reducing the severity of their symptoms, and improving quality of life is a healthy eating plan, emotional support, and highly skilled therapists who continuously monitor participants.

AACVPR Program Certification requires extensive documentation of a program’s practices, and is the only peer-review accreditation process designed to review individual programs for adherence to standards and guidelines developed and published by AACVPR and other professional societies. Programs are certified for a three-year period.
