Extended Clinical Pastoral Education

The Extended CPE program provides flexible training options to meet CPE requirements for individuals with demanding schedules. The program offers a four-hour group training session that meets every week during the five-month unit. Trainees will also be required to complete 15 clinical pastoral care hours per week for a total of 300 hours.

Tuition & Fees

For clinical hours completed at Baton Rouge General and/or General Health System-affiliated locations:

• $500 for first CPE unit
• $250 for remaining CPE units

For clinical hours at facilities and institutions that are not affiliated with Baton Rouge General or General Health System:

• $500 per CPE unit

Upon acceptance, trainees must submit a $100 non-refundable deposit which will be credited toward tuition and fees.

Students interested in the CPE program should submit a completed CPE application.

Potential candidates may be asked to interview with Baton Rouge General’s CPE Faculty and members of the CPE Advisory Committee.
