Medication During Pregnancy
The following medications are considered safe for use during pregnancy.
Acid Reflux/Heartburn (GERD)

- Prilosec OTC
- Mylanta
- Rolaids
- Nexium
- Tums
- Pepcid
Allergies
- Allegra
- Benadryl
- Claritin
- Flonase
- Zyrtec
Cold & Cough/Nasal Congestion
- Cough Drops
- Humidifier
- Mucinex
- Robitussin DM (sugar free)
- Saline nasal spray
- Sudafed (without Phenylephrine - PE) after 12 weeks
- Theraflu
Constipation
Drink at least 8 glasses of water a day and eat high fiber foods.
- Colace/Ducolax
- Magnesium Citrate
- Metamucil/Citrucel
- Milk of Magnesia
- Miralax
- Senna
- Smooth Move Tea
Diarrhea
- Imodium
- Stay hydrated by drinking water
Gas
- Gas-X
- Mylicon
- Phazyme
Headache/Fever
- Tylenol (regular or extra strength)
Hemorrhoids
- Anusol
- Preparation H (ointment/wipes)
- Tucks Medicated Pads
Insomnia
- Benadryl
- Tylenol PM
- Unisom Sleep Tablets
Motion Sickness
- Dramamine
Nausea
- Ginger (Ale, Snaps, Tablets)
- Phenergan
- Unisom (Doxylamine) Sleep Tablets with Vitamin B6
- Zofran
Pain
- Tylenol (not ibuprofen)
Rash
If you have itching that lasts a few days, call your doctor’s office.
- Benadryl (cream/tablet)
- Caladryl (lotion/cream)
- Hydrocortisone 1% (cream/ointment)
- Oatmeal bath (Aveeno)
Vaginal Yeast Infection
- Monistat 7
