Sports Medicine Fellowship
Welcome to Baton Rouge General’s Sports Medicine Fellowship Program! We are a one-year ACGME-accredited program accepting two fellows each year. Launched in 2008, our fellows get first-hand experience caring for a variety of sports medicine activities, including sideline care of athletes at Louisiana State University, Southern University and several large high schools in the area. From prevention to injury management, our focus on comprehensive sports medicine prepares physicians for the full range of sports and musculoskeletal pathology similar to those they will manage in the future. Our fellows work with prominent orthopedic surgeons and other related sub-specialties, gaining clinical experience and learning how to be effective team members and leaders in their field.
Applications are accepted from residents who have completed their residency training in Family Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics or Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Take a look around and don’t hesitate to contact us with questions at (225) 387-7707 or email SportsMed@brgeneral.org.
